I want as many Scots as possible to feel proud of — and comfortable speaking — both languages that are genuinely their own, Scots and Gaelic. I believe learning resources should be free, accessible, and fun, and this site — along with the daily word games — is my way of giving a bit of that back.
Why this site exists
Sean-fhaclan & Auld Sayins started as a way to search Scots and Scottish Gaelic proverbs side by side and see where their wisdom overlaps — and where each language has sayings the other doesn't. It's a starter set, built to grow: proverbs, translations, and even a proverb's place of origin can all be added over time, with sources credited honestly rather than guessed at.
